It's official, the 48 hour countdown has begun! That excited/nervous/"blah!" feeling has crept up pretty unexpectedly, and sometimes it really just doesn't feel real. However, I've gotten in contact with my future roomies in Greece, which makes it seem that much more real again, and they all seem like really awesome girls. I'm often scared that my personality can be a tad overwhelming, but I'm convinced that these girls are going to give me a run for my money - and I can't wait! I love meeting new people, particularly when they can have fun in any situation. ;)
Well, I've packed just about everything I think I need (and then some), and I've downloaded plenty of music for a 28 hour flight. Speaking of which, does anyone have any good remedies for jet lag? I'd rather re-do exam week a billion times over than to ever have jet lag, but I've tried coming to terms with it. I've got my Dramamine, my ibuprofen, Tylenol PM, and a good pillow. Greece is a seven hour time difference, and I won't arrive until 2:55am Monday, May 28th (about 8pm Sunday, EST). I'm sure by the time I make it to my apartment, I'll be completely thrown off! Oh yeah, I have to get my own taxi to my apartment at 3 in the morning... it's going to be so weird! So, wish me luck.
Other than that, my life's been a busy "nonsensity" of last minute planning, packing, cleaning, etc. That horrible "I know I'm forgetting something!" feeling hasn't quite dissolved, but it's getting better. Actually, it's progressed into "I feel like I don't have all the details" kind of thing; but I'm sure that'll make life in Greece so much more interesting...! It's not like I'm not used to quick thinking and quicker acting anyhow.
It's my last night in MB and a few of my ESA friends are in town celebrating one of my Sister's wedding, coming up on Saturday. They made t-shirts and everything! So I'd better get myself ready for a night of bachlorette mayhem, which I'm sure will be a blast. I'm totally enjoying the fact that all my friends are getting married -- these are the best parties, ever! But don't worry, kids; I won't be planning any parties of my own anytime soon.
Thanks for reading and be on the lookout for the later updates!
